The "Clean Theme customization" project has just taken off...
Change of Default Box
This is where I started - the standard Clean theme
The rounded corners in the default boxes are nice, but can be a pain to load on a low-bandwidth connection, as when I'm using my P800 to access this site.
I decided to get rid of these by changing the default box template from default_box.tpl to default_pop.tpl.
This was easy done via Control Panel/Administration/Layout Admin/Change Box Style/
These boxes are however a bit pale, so I decided to add some background color to alle column 1 and column 3 boxes. I really like the white background color in the main area of the site, so here the default was ok.
In the directory /themes/clean/boxstyle I found the default_pop.tpl and made a minor modification to the background color. I saved the file as _pop2.tpl.

Actually I changed white to gainsboro.
Pick whatever color suits you.
(Check out the nice html-colors at: W3Schools)
All other boxes was changed to default_pop.tpl giving it a cleaner look and getting rid of all these gif-corners.

The result - a cleaner look
Voila - that's it! No Rocket Science here, and no new themes yet from my hands, but it was fun an a little bit educational this end.
I even succeded in getting myself a new cleaner look for this website.
This is how it all ended up.
I like the new look, and I'm looking forward to my next theme study, which will be more customizations.
Finally i will try to make my own theme from scratch, but I'm not just there yet...
Hope you enjoyed this little story from my life.
Regards
Kenneth
